Etiquette of Supplication: Turning Palms Upwards.

Narrated from Malik ibn Yasar as-Sakuni, al-Awfi: The Prophet (ﷺ) said: “When you make du'aa (requests) to Allah, do so with the palms of your hands, and not backward.”

Grade: Saheeh.
Lessons:
1. One of the etiquette of making supplication is embedding within ourselves the highest sincerity and hope that it will be accepted by Allah.
2. The sincerity when making supplication is represented by the gesture of our hands - that is, turning our palms upwards - as if waiting for a response or gift from above.
3. Raise the palms at the same level as or higher than our faces, with the utmost sincerity when asking from Allah. One should make sure to not make half-hearted gestures such as resting the hands on the knees or thighs.
